Changing Default Starting Ship, HELP....

I'm wondering if any of you out there had tried this, changing the ugly looking starflier default starting ship into another. I'm currently trying to figure it out but to no avail, i always see the starflier in the scene where Juni gives me that ship (old Junk). i've edited mi01.ini and the corresponding loadout.ini, npcships.ini. but still i see that old junk. but when i go to the cityscape, that is after i accepted Juni's offer, i see my new starting ship-slipstream

. even when i floan out there in space meeting King the new ship is the one i've already been using.

What must i edit to remove that old junk in the equipment room scene with Juni and replace it with my chosen ship.

i'm going crazy just thinking about this!!!!

Hmmmm.....Gonna have to use this and combine my Nevada system with the Added Black Slipstream....I'll do that when the system is completely done, and it's far from it.

SOddrac and Rubicon: I tried that already but the results are the same althoug in the cityscape i have the ship i wanted. Is this thing hard coded tooo...

firebase, sorry, I thought it would work. I have not tried it. I did try replacing the starting ship in MP and I have read every thread on this entire board how to do it and none of them work for me.

The only other advice I would have for you is some other threads I saw on here which said to change the first entry in the loadout.ini (which I think is "msn_player_loadout" or some such) and do the changes there. Search for that in the editing forums.

There is a lot of great info on this board. Unfortunately, I have tried a lot of it and it doesn't work (for me). Some does, some doesn't. I can change where and what ships are sold, I can change starting MP money, faction reputations, and such... but I have yet been able to figure out how to change starting ship for MP (on my own LAN server), and I have not yet tried for SP.

Good luck m8. If you find the SP solution -> PLEASE POST IT!

Rubicon I have already done changing my default ship. the problem is in the scene at the equipment room. the starflier keeps showing up with the loadouts supposedly for the slipstream instead of the slipstream. any way i stopped doing that 'cuz its making me crazy just looking for holes to change the starflier. The default ship i have now is the slipstream. you can see it in the cityscape's "parking lot" before going to your first mission with king and the scene where you meet king in space.

I will show in my next post about how to change that default ship even though you still have the starflier ship in the equipment room.

I don't keep notes on what i edit and did.
