meshconv says cmp''s don''t exist

big problem, just finished making the mesh's for three ships, and i exported the cmps but when i went to convert them meshconv said that the files don't exist, and if i include the extentions it says there not valid vmesh files.

HELP!!

p.s. utf edit won't work either, is there another program i can use

If you are using the VMesh converter you must give it the name of a VMeshData segment and a VMeshRef segment. These must be separate files (exported from your .cmp with the UTF editor) or the converter will not work.

When this is done correctly it will output the new VMeshData segment and then as many VMeshRef segements as you need. You will then have to import them back into your .cmp as described in the readme.

While i appreciate this is a hassle it doesnt take more than about 15mins to go from exported .cmp to new .cmp with multiple components once you knwo what you are doing. Relative to how long it takes to design and code a ship this doesnt seem to bad.

I am finishing off a version which will just read in the .cmp and output the new one, expect to see it within the next day or so.

Mail me the .cmp and your exported VMeshData and VMeshRef files. I'll sort it and tell you waht the problem was.

My address is in my profile.
