Hello all.

Lets compare some stuff.

Making a new ship = you have to edit 3 files and have your own cmp and mat files.

Making a system = you need to edit atleast 2 files. More if you do it properly.

Adding a commodity as a prize people can find = you have edit 6 files for 1 tiny item. That includes the news or rumours for that item so people can find it.

Talk about time consuming.

Adding a ship for the AI pilots to fly = you have to edit 3 files just to use an existing ship, 6 + cmp + mat + infocards to do it with something new

Adding a new weapon or other equipment = only two files + infocards

It may take 1 hour to write a system using FL Explorer.
It may take 3 days full time to build, comment and test a system with complex bases (ie. ringworld), news, infocards for all objects, rumours, bribes, infos to buy, danger areas, encounters, surprises, no-nonsense base setup, right place in the universe and a common sense for all of this.

Finding the idea for system is the main trouble. The rest is a lot of typing.

I don't know how for ships, but assume the same. There are the simple ones and the complex ones.

you're right, creating and testing your new ship is really time consuming...
but i will finish my ship accordingly.

Working hard to earn... but too lazy to do something...
