Restoring backups.

The general place to discuss MOD''ing Freelancer!

Restoring backups.

I had my Freelancer exactly the way I wanted it, however I mostly installed mods manually, without using FLMM very much (except to install scripts). However, I tried installing the train mod but I forgot that FLMM replaces files instead of adding to them, so now my mods are messed. I want to restore a backup of MY SYSTEM, meaning a backup of the computer from last night or something. It wouldn't change much I don't think, but I really think thats the only way to fix such a large scale problem. Can anyone help?

Well, if that is all you did (activate a mod in FLMM) all you have to do is deactivate the mod and your freelancer will be just like it was before then. If you're using Windows XP, and maybe other version, you can run system restore to revert back to some time when it last created a restore point, fortunately it usually does this when you install or remove programs, drivers, etc.

If none of that works you just became a proud member of the "now I know why backups are important" club like the rest of us. Remember, step 1 is admitting you have a problem (Thats for everyone who thinks they don't belong in the club)
