How do you make all planets, bases etc visible

Ok... Its a known universe, there is no reason why I should have to stumble around in the dark looking for all the planets, bases, jump holes etc., or use a secondary program to see what should be there, just because I was not personally there in the game I am playing this time. How do I make the map show all object postions from the very beginning, or at least soon thereafter if the strory hard code gets in the way. Also, how do I open up all the jump gates/holes so I can go anywhere and do anything I want without being escourted around the universe by the story line.(I realize that someone has made a mod that opens all the gates up, though it does not put everything on the map, but I want to know how to do it to MY files so I don't have to replace them and maybe wipe out some other modification I have made to my game). I really want to know where that stuff is in case I want to add some planets or bases and then add them to the map as well and make it possible to go there.

By the way... did anyone out there ever refuse a mission during the story line when you get the "accept" or "decline" buttons? I wonder what happens then? I get involved in the story and hate to leave the universe to the mercy of the Nomads so I never tried it.

Also on my wish list are the raw ship files that people have made but insist on putting into FLMM so you have to replace the stuff you already have instead of adding it where you want to. For instance, I would love to have the files for the X-wing, Tie Fighter, and others so I could put them on the bases I want and sell them for the prices I see fit. I never play multiplayer anyway, I just like to modify the ordinance and shoot stuff!

Answering the title question of your post:

You have to add visit = 1 to each system, base, planet, base etc. in the game, in all the ini-files. Will take about as long that it would take to fly through every corner of the Sirius sector, and is probably a great deal less funny

In response to your second question (declining Juni's missions) :

At one point in the story line Juni contacted me saying that she had a mission for me and that i should meet her on Leeds (or somewhere). Well i arrived, but realised that i had almost no money, and a really crappy ship. So i decided to decline the mission. She said how dissapointed she was, but that she would wait for me in the bar (isn't she kind). So i went off and got myself some cash and a new ship, and went back to the bar. Sure enough she was standing there, and i could just accept the mission then, with no ill effects

Have a nice day.

Ok... If by "go to all the ini files and change them to say "visit = 1" you mean go to freelancer\data\universe\systems\ and then the particular system ini like Br04 (for the Leeds system for instance...) and then search for the phrase "visit =" and put a 1 after every instance instead of the larger number that is there now (they vary from 128 to 32, 36, etc.) that that will allow me to see all bases on the map... Is that what you mean???

Ah..! I always wondered about that. On the box when you buy the game it gives you the impression you can become a Bounty Hunter, a Merchant, a Pirate, or a Smuggler... You decide it says! But I have never been approached to become any of those things in the game during or after the story line is finished. I might, for instance, want to try to be a Bounty Hunter if given the chance. They have good weapons judging by the ones laying around in shot-out ships in the border worlds. I always wondered where their main base was. The Outcasts and the Corsairs have a couple of whole systems, but the Bounty Hunters just seem to schlep along in Zoner ports or Liberty space mostly. Maybe we should make a planet somewhere and make it a Bounty Hunter homeworld. But you need missions to make it worth the trouble. (Sigh...!)

I have recently built a couple of bases for "JSG Industries" (you know... JustSomeGuy...) where I sell modified fighters and weapons to myself (the Crusher and Crippler series weapons are must have's...), but I can't seem to get the missions in the bar to work for me so I can go out and earn money killin' folks. I do however make a handy living out of commodity trading between my bases and the local planets and such. Of course people who get in my way while I'm carrying goods don't get the chance to send their loved ones a note. (Ehh... honey, I don't think I'll be home for dinner tonight... BOOOM! AARRRGHHH!). Do you know how to make missions for a created base or use some from a system my bases happen to be in? That would be more interesting, especially if I could modify the rewards for the missions or name the factions to fight etc. The Corsairs on their homeworld seem to offer the most money out of all the factions for killing Bounty Hunters, running over 100,000 credits a pop! How do you create a faction? I have looked around at the tutorials but didn't find that there... maybe I missed something. Then I could make my bases my own faction, give them mission generation and live happily ever after... well at least for a week or so.

And in every game I play...??? Is that what you mean. I have to change it each and every time I play a new game??? If I go through it once and change it, it won't stay changed???

You can download the Bootstrap mod from this site - it will make all bases, jumpholes/gates, etc, visible when you start a new game.
