Need HELP with Starting Ship for MP **CLIENT SIDE**

I know that it is possible to change the starting ships for people on server side by the host, but is it possible at all to edit something so that you have any starting ship you want when u make a new character on any server? Please help this is very important.

not 2 my knowledge, but i really havent looked in to it in any detail.

Starting off with any ship seems like cheating; it would be better to have a narrow selection; say, the three basic ships available in Liberty, and the basic fighter from each of the four houses would be a good idea, but that would still be a bit unbalanced...
