Running Lights

I noticed apost on the main page about someone who removed the running lights from the stations and ships. I was thinking, i dont want all the runniong lights gone, only those on the Corsair Titan. Could somebody let me know how to do this?

hey guys,

bear in mind those changes wont show up in game till you buy a new titan.

if you want to see them without buying a new ship you could try editing your saved game - make sure you make a backup first.

ok, problem. I went into goods.ini, found Co_elite2, adn deleted "hprunninglights13 hprunninglights14" as per instructions.

I then reloaded the save, and upon going to the ship dealer on Crete, i see the rings where a ship lands, and no ship. I clicked on the Ship Pruchase icon, and the usuall blurb thing came up, but, before it could show anything, it simply disappeared again.

Suggestions?

Make sure you deleted the entire line, something like: addon = SlowSmallPurple, HpRunningLight01, 1

The alternative is to edit lights_equip.ini yourself go to the entry for each light you don't like and change it. You could set it's color to 0, 0, 0 or bulb and flare sizes to 0.000001 to remove it or you could simply change the color or blink rate to something more pleasant. Changing this file will effect all ships in the game as soon as you save the file and fire up freelancer, and it looks as though you can run it edited client-side only without any problems. For me I think the game looks a lot better when most of the lights don't blink at all and the ones that do blink have longer delays and shorter durations.
