Is it possible...

To mod a ship or make a ship so that you cant actually SEE the weapons? Do you understand what im talkin about.. when you see the ships with weapons, you see the big weapons on the ships. is there a way to mod it so you can cover em up or not see em?

i think u can, just make an invissible or very small model

Or rectractable, so they would be less susceptable to damage while flying through asteroid or debris fields.

*whirring sound, CLUNK, lovely female voice saying "weapons deployed"*

Just my $0.02, but it could just be the cardamine talking.

yeah retracting weapons is possible, you create a different animation sets.
eg. Opening the hatch to release your cargo had an animation file, you could make one that moved the weapons hardpoints.
But as far as I know no one knows how to bind new keys, and I dont know how to stop the guns from shooting when they are retracted

i think were floating away from the point, i dont want them to retract or anything. i just dont want them to be visible when i equip them. thats it

Why not just move the hardpoints inside the model? This works - I've tried it.

Does it? ok thast ok then, I was unsure if it would dammage the pairent ship or not

You don't have to move the guns inside, just use this as the model type:
DA_archetype = equipment\models\turret\li_cruiser_gun01.cmp
material_library = equipment\models\li_turret.mat

Its the cruiser forward gun which is invisible since the "fake" gun is actually part of the model.
