/EXE/newcharacter.fl

/EXE/MPnewcharacter.fl is simply a text file, and along with CHARACTER/newcharacter.ini controls the start up conditions of a new MP player. Everyone knows this now I think.

But these files have nothing to do with a new character in SP. I have assumed that is defined by the contents of another file: /EXE/newcharacter.fl. However, I can find nothing in my arsenal (BiniQDU and MS Visual Studio .NET, and of course my beloved notepad) that will decode this file so I can check my assumptions.

Has any modder out there figured out how to get into this file? I would deeply appreciate any help you can pass along.

I totally respect your comments, as I too I have been frustrated reading all the questions that seem to have been previously answered in the same forum. Believe me I’ve spent a lot of time reading all the .fl format posts I can find in all the forums. Maybe my question is just like those others.. the answer is in here and I simply can not find it.

But I think that /EXE/newcharacter.fl file is a different beast. Maybe there is something in that game save decompiler that will work, but I’ve not had much luck working with that one so far. Maybe I have to give up on this one.
