Problem With the UTF Editor

OK I made a new ship from the ground up and I've discovered that something is screwy with my .mat files. Under the "material libray" in "Type" I put in DcDt like it should be but when I hit "Update" In the ASCII window it reads "DcDtUUt" well it's something like that. The "t" looks like a little cross and the "UU" have some wierd little things over them. I've looked at a ton of other .mat files and all of them say DcDt and look completely normal. Is there something screwy with UTF or did I screw up some place.

WHY OH WHY WONT IT WORK!!!!

try making it so that it interprets the data as a string. that might help.

It is being interpreded as a string. Sorry I left that part out. AS far as I can tell I'm doing everything right....but something has to be screwed up someplace. Has anyone else had this problem before?

yup just ask leonhart.

normally you just have to start again (unless someone else knows a better way)

American Scientists spent millions developing the perfect writing utensil; It writes in Zero-gravity, upside down, under water, in space... The Russians used a Pencil.

I should probabally add that: just to see if there was a problem with something I did or the UTF editor it's self, I went under a few different .mat files for prexisting ships and erased the DcDt in is place, typed it agian, updated it and I ran into the same problem.

hm.. maybe some unicode issue?

have you tried typing the DcDt in notepad and then copy/pasting it into the UTF?
