ok another broken search engine question LOL

most people stick to arond the 2000 mark (maybe even as high as 3000) but if you have a fast rig i have seen 11000 polygon ships (3 in multiplayer) with little or no lag

but on a large server this could posibbly have an adverse effect.

Ok thanks so it won't be a problem with 4000 Polygons as biggest Ship.

But what about cap ships? Those can't look very good with only 4000 polys or so.

i dont know if this is the right place to post this... but could you use say the 3d models for planets, bases etc. for ships?

Not in the Way they exist.
You have to add some HardPoints in your 3D Modelling Program.
But for using them you would need an importer.

actually, you don't need to add hardpoints in a 3d modelling software.. you can add them with the UTF Editor...

yeah, but dont things have hardpoints already? i mean theres turrets on most stations

I think they have different ones.
But i also don't know if there is a program for Importing MOdels.
I would like to have but can't find one.
