Might be doable, but doing the connections are going to be confusing. Wouldn't it be simpler to have 2 trade lanes connected to each other across a vast space? That way, disconnecting the trade lances would require attacking the end point only and if heavily shielded, you'd have a stargate capable of transporting ships at high speeds in a reliable manner. Of course if you get disconnected while in mid flight its a long cruise to anywhere.
Would it be easier just to mod the equipment on the ship like sheilds and make the sheilds inverable to collosion damage or something like that. or have a capsule drive(From indenpence war 2 edge of chaos)and just click a spot on the nav map and it will charge 13secs and bring u there in the cool capsule space thing and works insys and out system too if someone can do that and tell me (also put me in copyright info because it was my idea) and have it in flmm and post it where the other mods are.
What I think they're talking about is in-system propulsion, instantaneous travel to from one point to another in any (and to any) system. It would be interesting, but not easy. personally, I edited the speed of my cruise speed to at least 10x its normal speed, now I can travel from one side of any system to another in three seconds tops. Still, its dangerous to get used to, as you have to make sure to avoid asteroids and flying to close (or right at) planets. To make things better, I also edited the speed of my thrusters to go at the normal cruise speed, so I can still travel normally between places like planets and stations and such.
What would happen, assuming you are talking about slipspace and not super fast engines, if you emerged from slipspace in the middle of a planet? Also, I have asked for MOD help in several locations, and everyone is ignoring me. So, I will ask here: How, exactly, do you make a MOD, and what software do you need? Any help to a floundering newbie would be MUCH appreciated. Thanx!
