the crash to desktop certainly sounds like you have an incompatible save game somewhere - try moving them out one at a time to see if you can pin it down (any saved game made with a different mod /no mod could cause this) used to drive me crazy too but the beta version of flmm now has a "move saved games" function that solves this

i am useing the nvidea 44.03 drivers and iv tried 3 times erasing my saves but same every time it only does it after i buy the falcon and make a save i just bought porshs a-wing and im haveing no trouble. i just dont get it every thing was fine with my g-2 card mabie some rich old women will read this and feel sorry for me and send me the 400$ for a 9700 pro hu? ladies ya hear that come on have a heart lol

what version of flmm are you using at the moment? (i tested it with the beta and the move save game option activated)

is anything changed from when you made the saved game? (like mods on/off kind of thing - yeah i know but i have to ask)

and just when im thinking about it what version of flmm you use.(use beta1.2v2 the best yet)

also the card prob like dr del said is kinda worrying.

Leaked 44's... Hmmm not good, they are made for the FX class.
41.09's are recommended for best compatability.
I hear many saying that, I have a little driver collection here, only thing is that I miss some files to activate the Quadro4 functions on the card.

Read through that forum, they have a good lookover when it comes for drivers.
ATi have gotten better on theirs, but they ain't at the top level.
However I love their cards and their mod abillity, me wants one, I'll check my driver version, though I use a Creative GeForce 4 Ti 4600 in my rig.

By the way, what brand is your Ti 4200? ABIT? If it is, then you got problems, they have very bad breakdown statistics.

There is no problem that can't be resolved with a weapon, if it don't resolve, try a bigger one.

since when were the 44.03 leaked or beta?. the 50 series is pure fx the 40's are 4ti and above.

i have a geoforce4 ti 4200 on one of my rigs and have no problem with these drivers. the 41.09's were good for compatiblity but the 30.82's are recommended as the best alternative to what ever nVidias latest is (the 44.03's by the way)

i think the problem is the drivers haven't installed right when the updated, maybe from when the g-2 (i assume geoforce2) was removed(or one of the ancilliary branches i.e intels chipset thing,dX9a etc) .of course it could be a faulty card/hardware setup.
