Well actually, as it was a diplomatic cruiser, the 115-meter long Republic Cruiser didn't actually carry any weapons at all. It was fast, had sturdy shields, but being symbolic of peace didn't have any weapon mounts.

That's not to say a Freelancer version couldn't be spiced up a little, however.

Hey Tantive-IV was a diplomatic cruiser too, you can't tell me that it didn't have weapon mounts. And what ship would travel around in the Star Wars Galaxy without any weapons whatsoever? I mean come on, At least it would have had a fighter escort if it was totally defenseless. I mean they were going up to an enemy blockade after all.

I agree though, that ship would be hot if it was spiced up!

Yeah they were going up to a blockade, but they werent there to challenge it. They were there to meet with the Federation Viceroy.

the sulaco from aliens would be a good cruiser/gunboat/cap ship addon.

You're guys are right, I checked the official site, it doesn't have any weaponry which strikes me as kinda stupid, but the facts are the facts. But that doesn't mean we can give this cool looking ship teeth right?

The Tantive IV, you have to remember, was also a CR-90 Blockade Runner, not an official Republic (Or imperial, at the very least) cruiser. They come with guns as default. It was also less a diplomatic vessel than a Covert Ops ship flying around as a diplomatic vessel.

Back on the Republic Cruiser: Why no guns? Well, you'd be stupid to fire upon a ship that's owned by the biggest and most powerful government in the universe, wouldn't you..? Right?

Just tell that to the Trade Federation. Mwahaha. Anyhow, hope to see a Republic Cruiser, with teeth, soon.

As an after thought, there were probably pirate and independent owned Republic Cruisers flying around at the time anyhow. I imagine they had guns.

I agree there must be a armed cruiser out there somewhere. But on the other subject, The rupublics strength lied in it member states at the time, it wasn't until EP:2 that they even had an army. They were unprepared to deal with the separitists, thats was palpatines whole plan, to give the republic teeth so he could pacifiy it's members with a show of force. Until that time the jedi were the only protectors of the republic.

But a/w, that just useless backstory. We need to get someone to make this mod, and make it right. I wish porsche would do it.

Yes, the hammerhead would make a nice light fighter. The chigs (aliens) had a pretty cool looking fighter craft as well.

Also would kind of like to see the Serenity from the show Firefly. It would make a nice freighter.

I started working on a SA - 43 Hammerhead, but my progress is slow, my modelling skills could be way better. I found a high polygon model here, maybe someone can do more with it than I (couldn't decrease the polycount to a acceptable level)

i was thinking of it being a heavy fighter becouse of its size but also it already has a turrent right? well any way that model on the link you gave is great but i can see what you mean about the detail Lv. it would be cool if we could fly that thing though also has any one thought of a star furry fom b-5?
