Help With Hostile Universe!!

I downloaded the hostile universe mod and have tried my best to install it right. I just copied all of the files into the appropriate folders and that was it. When I try to use the hyperspace thing though I can get in to hyperspace but when I try to leave via one of the gates the game always crashes. Could someone help me is there somthing that I dont know that I should have done or did wrong or is this just a common bug and why so I could fix it. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

Hello Berry

The first step in solving a problem is finding out if it works for others and I can confirm Hyperspace and all the gates in it do work so the problem has to be something local. Which narrows down the issue a hell of the lot and makes it easier for me to help you now.

Getting Hostile Universe to work appears to be issue for a lot of people yet installation is a breeze and mod works fine for a lot more people. Also every report ive read complains about a different feature. Almost Random basically. I believe that the finger prints other mods leave on a freelancer install is not helping Hostile Universe one bit. Though not every issue can be explained this way.

So I posted an Updated installation guide and FAQ at the link below to help users such as your self avoid these issues and will probably include my own save in the next version so players are using exactly the same setup im using.

Here is the link, it contains my recommended installation method and how best to use HU so you do not experience these problems in the future.

Hostile Universe Installation Guide and FAQ

I am seriously thinking of making future Hostile Universe releases a patch for the original game. Any change in the original files will thus abort the install. Which means, those who would have had problems, simply wont be able to install the mod. Yet a successful install means the mod should work 100% correctly very time.

I am seeking feedback on current issues before deciding if I should definately do this or not.

This will be more important in version 5 because the changes are now being applied across the entire universe so problems will naturally increase for those who already have problems. My guide should help cut out most of the problems instantly though.
