What does "hit_pts =" mean?

Does it mean the ship's shield what we can see in the ship's intro?
But when i change this value to a bigger number,it seems to make ship get more
damage when i cruise in 3000 m/s speed?
Strange,eh?

It is just the hull hit points you have. Your shields are determined by the shield you buy.

eh,if i want to make a powerful battleship,
should i change this value to much bigger or even smaller

i've experimented with changing this value for the hull hit pts and this is what i found: If i increased the value my hull would become very succeptable to radiation damage, i would lose 99% of my hull almost immediately but the last 1% would not die, and when i got to a base for repair i would get a repair bill of around $300,000,000! also my nanobots wouldnt work.

I tried putting the hull hit pts=0 and my ship would be permanently on fire without actually dying - looked amusing but silly.

my conclusion is: leave the value as is, if u want to make ur ship stronger focus on your shield, and if your concerned about radiation damage give your ship lots of nanobots.

You can change the values between zero and i think 100000 without problems, only larger ammounts cause them.
And more = better :-)
