System Building : adding new sytem space

I've got a question, is it possible to add new areas in the universe (not sure how to call it, but with areas I mean like Rheinland, Liberty etc.)

I know how to add factions and stuff, but I mean giving the new systems a new prefix (like li, br, bw). Sorry if it's posted somewhere already but I couldn't find it.

not as far as I know. I have the same problem. I have created a Liberty system: Florida and create everything for it, a separate name, a new info card for the system. etc.

But when you enter the system it keeps saying Florida system, Rheinland space. Perhaps there is a file somewhere that still needs to be edited.

Also what I can't seem to do is getting an automatic update for my own created infocards.

According to a system's ini file, a base has 2 infocards. One is mentioned in the ini file and the other not. If you take for example Fort Bush:

ids_info = 65755 is the one in the ini file

looking that up:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?><RDL><PUSH/><TEXT>CLASS: Goliath</TEXT><PARA/><TEXT>GRAVITY: Complete</TEXT><PARA/><TEXT>DOCKING: Yes</TEXT><PARA/><TEXT>AMENITIES: Yes </TEXT><PARA/><TEXT>POPULATION: 5K</TEXT><PARA/><POP/></RDL>

So that's basically just the info you see when you are near the base, but never docked there.

Once docked it adds the information that is on the infocard 65756:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?><RDL><PUSH/><TEXT>Ft. Bush was one of the earliest outposts established during the settlement of Liberty. As Liberty expanded, Fort Bush became a popular jumping-off point for any number of wild business ventures as explorers set out to make their fortunes among the stars. Today Ft. Bush provides a haven for traders from all over Sirius who have business to conduct in Liberty. A branch of Liberty Police, Inc. (LPI) headquartered aboard the station helps maintain the peace necessary to a free economy by suppressing pirate activity in the debris fields and administrating automated weapons platforms that defend the nearby Trade Lane junction.</TEXT><PARA/><POP/></RDL>

I can't seem to get that working in my own created system as well

Yes it is possible but the areas and any new factions that run those sectors would be neutral to everybody in single player. It would work in mulitplayer though.

Check out missions, initworld and the mpcharacter (i believe) in the exe folder for a starting point and learn how to make info card dlls.
