NEED HELP!! can''t get new ships to work.

I need help bad!!! When I try to activate any custom ships in the FLMM, i get the following messages.

Access to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\data\ships\shiparch.ini was denied.

Error: Problem activating 'Jedi Starfighter'
This was only a test run, so no files were changed( besides being decompressed). Look in the log for more details.

Help please! I desparately want to use some of these ships. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm using FLMM vers 1.1

Thanks

Have no fear, this guy is here!!!!! OK, first of all you didnt burn the files to another Computer did you??? If you didn't and they don't work, heres what to do. Open up FLMM and go to the Tools Tab, Then click on Open Mods Folder, find the mod you are trying to activate, and open its folder, then copy the contents of the Mod Folder into the correct Freelancer folder

This one is easy, all you have to do is

go to the folder ...microsoft games\freelancer\data\ships
left click on shiparch.ini, select properties
uncheck the box beside Read-Only

Ive had this problem before, some mods and editing programs write protect the file automatically for some strange reason. oh well, I hope I helped

oh, if it says the test run thing, it means that shiparch.ini has gone missing.
you will find a file "shiparch.ini.flmbk" in the same folder, just remove the ".flmbk" part and you should be set

Here is another tip. I was getting some error messages with FLMM 1.1 with the Starfighter also. In another post the author of the program gave two suggestions to someone else having a problem. Only the second solution worked for me and here it is. If the mod is set up for FLMM 1.1 (which the ship or ship pack is):
Download the mod using the OPEN command instead of save. I tried it and it not only loaded everything successfully it worked successfully! (I got the former message without the thing working once before I tried this.)
Have fun
