can i make custom cockpts for ships?

I'm currently using the Freelancer Rebalance MOD v0.9c and the kussari gunboat.
the ship rocks but it uses the rhino/bounty hunter cockpit, is it possible for me to make a custom bridge?

By cockpit, do you mean the 3D model that is in the ship so that when peering in the window you see all the neat controls or do you mean the obstructing framework that gets imposed infront of the first-person viewpoint? In either case, the answer is yes. You are looking at \Data\Cockpits.... for where to start the modding....
