Sheild modding?

i've searched and found no explination on how to mod a sheilds stats, its possible i know, but what file and where in the file? is it possible to have a recharge rate of something radical like 8000? or would that be ott? whats the max hit points i can put on my sheild? and will it work in MP?
oh.. and can anyone get me a link to a tut on weapon damage editing? it'd be realy helpfull if i could learn editing myself, it seems fairly easy... i think

hehe very easy jus open up weapon_equip.ini and find the wepon u want and where it says like hull damage chnage that value and that will chnage the strenth of the wep

how do you work out the hull damage, because its mutch less than the sheild damage i noticed

...all weapons do hull damage and some have additional shield damage.
Reason:
in /DATA/constants.ini is set how many percent of the hull damage do apply to shields in general (set to 0.5 = 50%).
But to be able to have some shield killing weapons there is an additional setting in the weapons_equip.ini which adds extra shield damage to some weapons (like ElCid Corsair gun).

is there an easy wat yo link the references in the .ini files with the names of the weapons or do u have to do the best guess u can?
