Scheme Mod: Corsairs Not Feasable

Well, I hate to admit it, but it seems that giving the Corsair ships an overhaul isn't feasable right now without me putting in more research over what I have already. Which had the bright side of giving me an idea or two, at the very least.

Apparently, and quite bizarrely, the Corsair textures are taken from all over the place, so to retexture them in the conventional manner would mean a few other ships would end up looking... odd. Mostly the Kusari vessels.

Very odd.

I'll crack it one day soon, but in the meantime, any other ship set you'd like to see instead? Bounty Hunter? Border World? Transports and Trains?

Boarder World tetxures would be coo. but how do you edit .mat files in a paint program (i got psp7)

Do something with those gawd awful transport textures. I IMPLORE you!

Now that I think about it, it's true what people say. All of the ships are butt ugly.

the textures for the cosrsairs are in "x:\werever you put freelancer"\Freelancer\DATA\SHIPS\CORSAIR in the co_ships.mat file the textures are stored in the .dds format not tga(ie what it says). I know you can edit them in photoshop if you have the right plugins

Give me *some* credit.

If it was that obvious, they would have been edited last week. However, the Corsair vessels *actually* use the Kusari_Playerships.mat file, not the co_ships.mat file, and I'm not currently prepared to change *all* Kusari fighters to get at the Corsair vessels.

I have successfully managed to seperate the two by some .ini manipulation, but the colour scheme only seemed to work when docked. Once you hit flight, they reverted back to the Kusari textures.

As of late, I'm not sure why that is.
