ACK!!!!! Here's what I discovered. The two mods are incompatible for some reason. Porsche: I hope that as you make new ships, you make a combo mod with all of them in the same package. They are all so beautiful!

I was using the Slave/A-Wing Combo Mod. I unloaded that and one other mod I was using with Mod Manager. Then I loaded the B-Wing Mod. Freelancer would not start. I tried using Mod Magager to delete the AutoSave file. No Go. I used the Reinstall feature of Freelancer. No Go. I uninstalled Freelancer without uninstalling my saved game files AND I uninstalled Mod Manager. Then I reinstalled both. No go. So then I had the idea of manally deleting the autosave file and saved game files by date, the newest one first, one at a time, without the benefit of using Freelancer to do so. The first (newest) file was the only saved game involving the Slave ship. Freelancer started. Then I loaded the B-Wing Mod and a couple of others and Freelancer ran fine.

Moral of the story:
If you are running the Slave/A-Wing Mod and plan to switch to the B-Wing Mod, save your game right then so it is the newest saved game file. Delete any others involving those ships. I think (but I don't know yet) that you can just move that saved game file to another folder for later use if you want to switch back. Just get it out of the saved game folder and delete the autosave file.

Then uninstall the Slave/A-Wing Mod and install the B-Wing Mod. You should be good to go.

I think that if you handle it this way you can avoid what I had to do. I am assuming that if you drop a saved Slave/A-Wing game or a saved B-Wing game into the saved game directory after unloading/loading the proper mod, that saved game will work. But that is just an assumption.

It's not going to be a problem for me because The B-Wing ROCKS and I am going to stick with it until Porsche come out with something better! And that IS possible!

There are some graphics problems in the B-Wing scripts involving landing and moving into the equipment bay after docking, but no graphics problems in flight, however I do not use Turret View, so I don't know about that. This thing is as agile as an Eagle Civilian and faster. Looks better from behind than the Slave too. The cargo room allows you to make actual money transporting comodities. The gun mounts allow you to power up! I made Simple Mod V1a and 3 (available elsewhere on this site) and I am using Version 2 of that (a personal version not quite as tweaked and never uploaded to this site) with the B-Wing. But V3 has more powerful weapons anyway. Those weapons and this ship are just about invincible.

ACK!!!!! As I stated Previously, I am an Idiot. Too many math and computer science classes I guess.

Please ignore my previous post about problems with loading Porsche's mods. I just figured out that simply downloading and clicking on a ".zip.flmod" file automatically loads it into Mod Manager. I was wondering what they meant by that feature. Now both Mods are show as compatible in Mod Manager, and I bet the saved game files will be compatible too.

Everybody has to learn from scratch.

But the B_Wing comments still hold. IT ROCKS!

ACK!!!!! It is now time to inform you all that I suffer from Bipolar II disorder. Please disregard the plea to disregard my first post. I just loaded the B-Wing Mod again after properly installing it in Mod Manager by clicking on the ".ini.flmod" file and it IS NOT COMPATIBLE with the Slave/A-Wing Mod.

So my comments on how to switch back and forth between ships are probably correct.

If anyone sane has similar problems, I guess they will post them here.

I gotta go to sleep now, or at least try.

Great ships Porsche!!! I can't wait to see the Jedi Starfighter either. One you might think about putting on your To do list would be a certain Corellian Frieghter.

Excellent model, but I have to agree, that's too much cargo space for a fighter-type ship that ALSO has that kind of gun loadout. Do-everything ships make one of the basic tradeoffs of the game (guns or cargo?) moot.

Some1 needs to make a b-wing/slave1/a-wing/hell any other starwars ships ne1 has made pack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ^^
I think all of use want one to be made.

I kinda like the big cargo space in this ship. I never wanted to fool around with a freighter but now I can engage in some comodity trading AND kill stuff. To tell you the truth, I modded the mod. My cargo space is 400. I don't play online, only single player, so i sort of do what is fun.

But I can see the point.

Sorry about the mind***k. Mine got it too.

And yea, it would be nice to have a compatible set. But Porsche would have to make a new compatible set every time another ship was ready. I plan to try them all.

I made a combo pack with the Slave 1, A-Wing & B-Wing.

Its in FLMOD format so you need Freelancer Mod Manager.

Where is this mod pack you speak of?

Ooooh, and canya make the big Naboo senatorial cruiser? The one that looks like a flying wing? ^_^ The combat version of course :p. Of course then someone may need to make some silver gun skins to put on your favorite guns so that they won't clash with the skin of the cruiser. :p

I should have it out by the week.

I chose this one to do first so now you will have a Kick Ass Freighter to fly..going by Star Wars.com this will be a fast freighter..

You say you made a combo pack with the A/B-wings and Slave 1. Do you have a link to it or has it been submitted to Lancers Reactor already?

Yep.. Lancers Reactor has the file up now under the downloads section of Freelancer.

Last Update of the night... I have the Corelliean Corvette model done. I just have to create the textures and skin the model and it will be ready..
