OpenSP/Story mod

Having spent many a long hour trawling through the endless .ini files of Freelancer, I still find myself unable to do what I want most, even though it is absurdly simple.

What I want to do is this:

1) Open all of the Jump-gates in the game after mission 2 (so the jumgates around liberty aren't locked, but you still have to do mission 2 to get out of New-York - your 'bonus').

2) Be able to level up all the way to 38 without playing the story missions, while keeping them as an option to play.

The ability to remove the annoying 'waypoint to next mission with Juni' feature that pops up when your not doing anything would probably make this work better too.

This, in my opinion, is how the game should have been made in the first place. I *want* the option to go out, do a little trading, a little fighting, buy a kickass Very Heavey Fighter and *then* do the story missions. Anubis? ANUBIS?? What the hell piece of crap is that to finish the story in?? Who cares whether it makes it more 'challenging', I want it to be fun!

Note that I do not want the missions removed (as in OpenSP) or the ability to buy everything without level restrictions (as in TotalSP).

I would appreciate any help that anyone could offer me.

Much obiged, StormCrow

well i was wanting to do the same thing, yet i didnt succed in figuring out how to be able to level up without having to do the story line mission.

therefore i decided to go the easy way and removed the level restrictions for equipment

still having trouble with the level requirement for random missions though

if you somehow succeed in doing so, i would love you for this, since - i have to agree with you - this is the way the game should have been.
ofc the story missions would need to be harder according to your level...
