I want to save you the time of reinstalling because of this happing to you.
Do not add an item such as a weaon engine thruster ship or shield and then jump back in to the game to examine your handy work and then save your game then decide you didnt like that shinny new ship or the gun that can cut through 6 inches of kriptonnite or the shield thats regenerates like a small necular reactor and then deleate the item and start playing any of your saved games that had those items. Especially if your tired and have space dust on your brain and forget what the heck you did you'll end up with a big headache.
