3 new ships

Here are 3 new ships i made.

Freighter http://www.savagelizard.go.ro/freighter.htm

and a heavy fighter http://www.savagelizard.go.ro/hfighter.htm

Tell me what u think about them. I just started placing hardpoints and converting them to cmp. If anybody would like to help me texture these it would be nice as I'm very bad at texturing.

Not bad, not bad at all. I would like to help you texturing but I am busy right now I have couple of ships I need to finish first. So if you would wait couple of days I would texture it for you.

Nice.

Really good, and not falling into the whole "wings" thing that I have seen so much of. (Why do you need wings in space??)

Even if the light fighter has a bit of a dralthi look to it

Most important reason for wings=good weapon platform.

Wow dude, those are WITHOUT A DOUBT the BEST original designs I have seen on this board so far!!!

good work, they seem fairly curvey whats the poly counts?

The freighter has 2994 polys, the light fighter 1237 polys and the heavy fighter 2244 polys.
Curently i'm working on another ship, i placed all the hardpoints, tested it in freelancer but i still have to finish skinning it (about 80% done). I'l post some screenshots soon.

Hmmmm that could be a little on the high side if you thinking of getting them in the game, most modellers on here seem to aim for under 1000. the ships that we have got on the inifinity ship yards site are all under 1000 and some are a low as 400,

I know the poly counts are high especially on the freighter, the heavy fighter only has 1224 (not 2224 oops!) but i'm not very experienced at modelling. I'l try keeping a lower polycount on future models. These ones work well in the game but i imagine more of them on the screen would slow things down.

I modeled them in 3d studio max 4 and then exported them to milkshape to add the hardpoints and texture.
