Adding a Ship to FL

After about 30 minutes of searching this forum, I'm just going to come out and ask.

I have now finished my 1st ship model in Milkshape, and its nicely textured. Now, what do I do next to prepare it to import into Freelancer. I have the UTF editor that is referred to in some threads, and know that its something to do with a .mat file. The Borg Sphere tutorial is no longer available - dead link, that I was planning to follow.

Can someone please either point me to a link(s) or reply with what I need to do.

Thanks Leonhart, but I have all of the stuff from Zen Forums already.

What I need is the step(s) in between making a model in Milkshape and doing the ini editing. From what I can remember from the Borg Sphere tutorial, there is something about .tga files, and the creation of a .mat file. And then following the Zen stuff to import these files into Freelancer.

I talked to the author on ICQ (UIN is 98868198). He e-mailed me a copy and asked that I not distribute it. He said that his site should be back online in 4 to 6 days.

Glitch, thanks for the information. I'll keep an eye on the shortcut I have - assuming when the site comes up again its at the same place.

kenny9119, I found this site to be good value for learning Milkshape stuff. In particular, this tutorial on skinning a model in Milkshape.

But, I am not sure that the method used is going to be any help with importing your ship into Freelancer. This is why I am seeking help on this part of the process...
