a little help does the x wing have topedoes if not you may try to place them in the front nose.

hi all

the new ties_and_xwing.zip.flmod
will crash a standard client that has no mod on at all(not like the old tie only mod)
they appear to crash(standard clients) when in same system as the xwing or when get closer to the ship.

few more test have shown that soon as you get in scanner range of a clean client(5k) the clean client will drop from game(making client do a fatal error send to ms etc screen)

making it impossible for new players to join and launch from manhatten
we should make the ships be sold elsewhere(never in newyork change a thing)

for now until the 5k scan range bug is sorted if ever can be
people should be able to get on server now everbodys is staying away from manhatten....

is anyone having problems with the textures on the xwing?

i reinstalled fl, flmm, and downloaded the TIE/xwing pack on the freeworlds site. still the x-wing's textures don't show up.

anyone know how to fix this?

Cool ship (texture may need a little tweaking, it looks kind of blury. Maybe its just the screenshots though). I was wondering, how did you get it from MAX to the game? I've been trying to get help on this for over a week. Here's the thread with the details:

The main difference between the new tie-xwing mod and the old TIE mod
is that there is a .dll file now included, this file contains the information
for x-wing or the info card as its called.
This is why i think clients without the mod are crashing.
It looks like unless a server is running a TC there not much point in
including info card dlls at this point. im surprised a client without the mod
TIE didnt crash either. do they just see invisibil ships?
I will speak with Rapid about it.

Can someone please email me a screenshot of the messed up textures
on the xwing if this happins to you?

the r2 unit's textures show up. not the ship's tho

also, the size of the ship is too small. you ought to scale it up so other ships don't look a lot bigger than it. either that or maybe the camera is too far behind the ship. either way, if the star wars mod is gonna have an awing, which is like 3/4 the width of the xwing, it needs to be bigger, or the camera needs to be closer. otherwise the awing would look as big as the xwing.

hi all

all the textures look fine to me
running gf4ti 4400 128 Blah Blah

anyone that gets within 5 km of the xwing will crash out(clean client or old tie mod) they dont get the change to see you a 5k distance they
just freese up and drop from game.

yes i think we should keep away from the .dll files if posible..
as the old tie mod had no effect on the clean client (they all saw a sabre)
you would think the same can be done for the xwing.

apart from a long list of want's from the players about the ships
(tweaks here and there) some are turning out to be fair game testers for the project and a few for have offered the model and 3d skills i hope we shall see them at the Freeworld bar where i have just been thown out for drunken abuse at the landlord about my email to join up

removed the infocard.dll from the ties_and_xwing.zip.flmod on the server
server is now running that version no (infocard.dll)

i removed from my client and re ran the mod joined server
only the same thing happend.
first dude 5 k from me drops/crash

could it be down to that this is a new ship added to a place that only normally selling one ship(pittspurg) and the tie are all replacement's of 3 normaly sold ships and clean clients see a sabre...

anyway its just a shot in the dark...

If I knew how to mod this game I would add my Star Destroyer and my Slave one to this game. I delibritly hate Milkshape, I wont use it unless it requires destruction.
