HOW FAR CAN MODDING TAKE US?

Before I start, I know I am going to sound "way out there" to most of you.
Likely that's because I don't have a clue how far "modding" can take us.
Here's the situation;

Can modding with FreeLancer go so far as to allow us to create a player-player interactive station or world? Will the tools allow this, or can we get tools that will?

I know that Star Wars Galaxy will be bringing this to us soon on a pay server.
I appreciate the value of a player run free server.
I have several good programming freinds who might be interested if its possible to create a player world within Freelancer.

So the question remains, can we only make minor changes, or can we modd as deeply as we want? Where are the limits?

All the things I know you can mod :
-add or mod weapon
-add or mod ship (partialy)
-add or mod base
-add or mod system
and (but none did this at the moment) add or mod an wole universe :p
You can (if you're a good programmer) mod every thing in the game (exept the concept).

Does this mean that a good programmer could not create a player-player interactive station and set it into freelancer's universe?

~sighs~ ..it would have been good to buy the boyz a beer after we blasted our way through narrow escapes ..and of course, to raise a glass in toast to the fallen..

Seeing yer bud's ship just ain't quite the same if you know what I mean.

Thanks, guess I'm gunna have to pay Star Wars Galaxy monthy fee's if I want to experience that sort of depth.

Even so, ..FreeLancer is half the answer to what I'd hoped for when I used to play Privateer alone among the NPC's eh?

What I mean with "exept the concept" is that you cant change that you are in a ship and fighting against other...

BEER!
And it could be highly perishable, as the pilot drinks it.

I loved the idea of adding "beer" as a commodity, but I daresay if your ship is carrying it, don't be surprised if even the newb's jump ya!

As for the "changing the concept part" is it possible for us to make a station where players can meet and interact to some degree? or no?

..addendum to the beer being perishable?
..it could be as you say perishable as the pilot drinks it, but if so, as the beer "perishes" the ship controls degrade accordingly, till your out of beer, deliver it, or perish yourself as a drunk driver....er pilot

I think we need beer!
Maybe someone could come up with a keg model that can be put in the commodity dealers. And used when you drop it/blow up.

As for your actual question, it's probably not possible to actually MEET other players in a bar. If MS decides there's enough interest in the game for an expansion, we might see player-owned stations, but I doubt there'll be that kind of interaction.

Beer as a commodity. Thats a good one. If its ever implemented i dare say it will be the source of the most humorous space fights so far.

maby we could make some ajustments to the ship when you are flying beer make it wiggel around and make the universe spin. lol im am drunk booom that was a planet

it's possible to change the bar in a chat box
we already made the shipdealer like the comoditie dealer (more than 3 ships with one shipdealer)
it will take some time and a lot of experiance with dll moding
but we will help the persons we is up for the chalange

beer has to be made as a commodity, it is the will of the universe. WE NEED BEER!!!!!!!!!

and the idea that if you drink it you lose control over your ship is great. how bout as well as a 'jettison cargo' button you have a 'drink cargo' button, the more you drink the harder it is to control your ship, but the better parts dropped by enemies are, or sumthin like that.
