A mod that changes the speed of all the ships ingame ?

A mod that changes the speed of all the ships ingame ?

Well the title sais it all ...

Is there a mod out there that changes the speed of every ship in the game ?
So when u buy a new ship it will go slower or faster than 80 ?

Every time u buy a new ship u will have to take in account that the ship is heavier but faster / slower etc ...

And if such a mod exists can someone give me a link to it ?

If there is also a mod of that kind that would introduce various "engines" to be bought like in privateer etc ...

So u could make your ship faster then it originally was ?

Like freelancer is now it doesnt add any strategic advantages / disadvantages to the game for every ships is as fast as one another ....

I really hope someone can help me on this ...

Actually, there is a Mod Manager available on this websight (Lancers Reactor) that comes with some mods pre-installed which you can activate to get your cruse speed anywhere between 1500 to 3000. 3000 being about double the speed of a tradelane. Atleast it seems that way.

Yes , thnx for the reply

I know that for i have tried the mod manager but that changes the speed for every ship in the game to the same settings.

So u fly faster but there is no difference between the ships itself.

I really mean the following :

I buy ship A : speed = 80
next i buy ship B : speed = 120
then i buy freighter : speed = 60
then a light fighter : speed = 180

etc ...

a bit of variation between all ships that is what im looking for.
and the speed differences also apply to the NPC ships in the game as well.

Now someone must have been annoyed by this thing so i guess there is a mod in the making to adress this.

I found one early today that does exactly what you require (I wanted something like this as well).

I can't remember exactly where I got it from, but you can download it off my site at http://users.chariot.net.au/~hoss/SpeedMOD.zip

I think it varies the speeds from about 50 for the slowest freighter to 120 for the fastest fighter.

This may only have a small effect on the game, but I think it is a neat little addition.

Raesene,

That is a great answer to Wyveren's question. I am going to look over those ini's myself, and that should let Wyvern have a good idea on how to change speeds. Cudo's for the zip file.

There is also a Speed and Handling tutorial in the Freelancer Editing: Freelancer Editing Tutorial Forum (it's not hard to find there but when that section grows I made a link so it's easy to find).

You can just paste the location from below into your address web browser (I block copied it and it seemed to work fine
