new ship but it doesnot show up

i hav a new ship ready and it is playable in freelancer but how the hell can i make it apear

i am only atacking the people who want to kill me but what if they kill me first

does anyone sell it?...

edit market_ships.ini to have some base sell the ship to you.... make sure you've made a package of it in good.ini
there's a lot of info out there on how to do this... and your question is a bit vague...anyway:
ships are defined in shiparch.ini
they are put into packages (including a 'hull') in goods.ini
that package also requires an engine which is defined in engine_equip.ini and a power plant... which is defined in misc_equip.ini
I think that covers it as far as this ini's go...

if you've made a model and texture... then I'm not the guy to talk to... hope this helps...

If there are errors in your new ship... then it could be invisible... happened to me once...

p.s. I assume you copied some ship and edited it, that the easiest way to go about your business... that's how I do it anyway...

Could be a problem with LODrange
try set the LODrange in shiparch.ini for the new ship to like this

LODranges = 0, 999999, 999999, 999999

Do not make it larger

i found the problem i forgot to make a mat file. but now the texture wont come up

did u find a answer to this yet? sounds like the problem i have with the tie mod....i can buy them, fly them, but they are invisible...even when install with the FLMM for a new install of FL

if its an invisibility problem (you should still be able to see the equipment, guns etc) then tyr setting ur lod ranges to the following


LODranges = 0, 999999


that worked for me with all the new custom models i have tried

hi

if you made the ship model in milkshape and had to flip it over ( like i did) the the textures in the mat are the wrong way round. (dont ask me why but they were.)

import the *.tga files you used in milkshape into photoshop (or similar) and flip them vertically and then save them in a new location using the same name.

now use the tga's you just saved to make your mat file and keep the originals in case you decide to change anything.

took me days of confusion and a one line post hidden in this forum to work that one out :-(

and if you know anything about the placement of the hardpoints for cargo bay doors please let me know. ;-)

i downloaded a program called saint paint. i opend the bmp file and saved it as tga and now it works
