Cap Ships... what REALLY works?

Hi guys,

First, thanks to everyone who posts in this forum... you're the reason I bought the game and continue to play it day after day - and love it.

My question is this... we've all seen a million posts about capital ships... everyone wants to try it out. I've seen dozens of posts listing the code, and comments on that MOD...

WHAT REALLY WORKS? Has anyone found a MOD that consistently works, allows you to dock, lets you play a battleship just like a regular ship... all that good stuff? I ask because I love the game - and I don't want to spend hours in the code, and hours reinstalling... just to get this to work. I just want a simple answer - X is what works best, here is where you can find out what to do.

PS: Yes this is my first post and I apologize if someone feels I should simply read other posts. I just see alot of dissagreement about what works, and nobody I've seen has asked simply... for those of us who are idiots (and I am)... what works consistently well?

They work, there's some ghost mod avalible that lets them dock with planets. I think one comes with the mod loader.

You can't really play it like a regular ship since the ones I've all tried take half an hour to turn around (which is a good thing I guess)

And they look damn stupid in bases.
