Populating Bases Causing Mission Vendor to Malfunction?
Before anyone flames that there is an answer somenwhere buried in the forum, I've already gone through the last 60 days and this question is not answered anywhere that I can find. If it is answered, then its not addressed in a specific post that I can find either. I've searched for the answer for 2 days now, so if you know where the answer is, then please just point it out and save the sarcasm for the kids who don't look for the answers before asking questions.
Now. Onto the issue. I have created a new base in orbit around Pittsburgh. I've created a new resource dll file with new base name and infocard, as well as names for the NPC's on the base. The problem arises when I actually populate the base using the mbases.ini in the MISSIONS folder. I've tried about 5 different ways to populate the base, including getting rid of the bar and just adding vendors, but no matter what I do, when I change the mbases.ini, the mission vendor starts acting up and reports that there are no missions available, and to please return when my reputation with the factions here is better. Before I populate my base, the mission vendor works fine. I can still get random missions from NPCs on my base, but everywhere I go, the mission vendor is broken. I know other people have run into this problem, and no one seems to be replying to them, so what I'm looking for is an answer as to whether anyone has solved this problem. The population issue isn't even addressed in the system creation nor the base creation tutorials. Only one guy actually posted how to populate the bases, and he never mentions the mission vendor issue.
Folks, I've been modding this stuff since day one, and I know my way around Freelancer. I've created new equipment, new ships, changed vendor equipment, even added ids_names and ids_info cards. This one has me stumped. Anyone else got a clue?
Thanks,
Vapor
