how do you export using the UTF editor?

how do you export using the UTF editor? when i click export there are blank lines in the file name and type boxes and when i manually input a name with .tga ending (because i want to export textures) and try to open the tga it says its not a valid file... somebody please help

you actually need to label them as a .dds file since that is really what they are, and you will need to use a dds plugin for photoshop to open them for editing

Tobmaster is right, you need to export to DDS format. There are however a few files which have entries in TGA format instead of DDS (some parts of the GUI, if i remember correctly), so if you need a way to tell which file to export to, you have 2 possible ways:

- Check the ASCII field: if it reads DDS, export to DDS, otherwise save to TGA.
- Check the tree node you're on: if it's MIPS, export to DDS, if it reads MIPx (where x is 0, 1, 2, etc.. MIP0, MIP1) export to TGA.
