ultimate solution to mooring fix for battleship mod

Well done wonderer but i'm sorry to say that your mooring isn't fix in your way. Let me help you in that. For the mooring to fix this is what you should do.

1.open shiparch.ini
change the "can_use_berths " to "can_use_med_moor "

**It is better to use medium moor than large moor cause using large moor sometimes will cause hang is you didn't press esc when the ship stop in cinematic but using medium moor your ship will always hit the hull and bounce back and try it again. So if you forget to press esc you can try again when the ship move back into mooring.****

2.open solararch.ini
find dock_ring then change the docking sphree from ring to jump
example:
change
docking_sphere = ring, HpDockMountA, 40, Sc_open dock a
docking_sphere = ring, HpDockMountB, 40, Sc_open dock b
to
docking_sphere = jump, HpDockMountA, 40, Sc_open dock a
docking_sphere = jump, HpDockMountB, 40, Sc_open dock b

**because the ring can't use medium moor, i have change it to jump so that all type of ship will be able to enter planet without problem. Even your battle ship**

That's all. I'm sure it is much more easy. I'll have to say thanks to wonderer and some other guys who is have forgotton his nickname cause without their guide i won't be able to understand all this.

Have you tried docking to stations with this mooring fix of yours? If memory serves, it does NOT take you into stations. Transports use the same fix but don't vanish when they dock like fighters.

ya, it doesn't take you into station but you will be in the station when you press esc before the ship stop in the cinematic. If you follow the cinematic, you will watch it stop like all the other transport or the battleship will bounce back when it hit the station. I choose med_moor rather than large_moor so that if you forget to press esc, you can still try it again when it hit the station and try to moor again in the cinematic while the large moor, your battle ship will just sit there if you forget to press the esc before the ship stop and you will be stuck.

I have used this setting to try to play sp mission and everything seems fine until when you reach the mission where you are hunted by liberty force and you try to flee from New York system. There you will find that the battle ship was unable to dock with a station(forget it's name) because something was in it's way.(by the way, this station only exist in mission i think). So, in order for this to work, i have try making all the docking_sphere with 150.00000 range and it work but with that kind of range, you won't see any cinematic.

Apologies. I have tested and found that it works. The tutorial has been updated to reflect this as well as include 3 brand new weapons and fix the beam weapon.

I tried what you said in both a Liberty Dreadnought and a Nomad Battleship. Both times the little droid in the docking ring tells me they are unable to service ships of my size. Any other suggestions?

You could try putting this instead
docking_sphere = moor_large, HpDockMountA, 40, Sc_open dock a
docking_sphere = moor_large, HpDockMountB, 40, Sc_open dock b
but nobody else would be able to dock with it. Its best you find out what went wrong. It works fine for me.
