I added a new weapon, a beam weapon from a suggestion of someone.

Now the problem now is that whenever I start up Freelancer it crashes. I added the weapon to weapon_good, weapon_equip, and market_misc. Anyone have any idea if I did anything wrong?

hehehe. that was my suggestion. sorry it caused so much trouble. maybe check out the Beam weapons thread? i had another idea as well. a Rocket Pod. fires lots of non-homing missiles really fast but doesn't do much damage. only problem with this is you'de have to up the number of missiles you could carry or you'de run out too fast.

Yes! It worked. I had to make it edit the bloody justice instead of making a new weapon. I will release this mod tonight.

Are you going to add the countermeasures, and mines back to the Anubis, etc? I posted some suggestions in the other thread called "The Cheese Mod is on the Repository".

Yep, they are back on the anubis. I ecountered a glitch. Whenever I join a Mplayer server it crashes. I thinks this iteration might be definite server and client side

If you want to test it I can send it to you before it is released. My FLServer crashes whenever I try to sign on(wtf) so I can't test my theory. If that is true that it has to be server and client I will make version without beam weapons.

Sorry I was redundant, I didn't see you had replied to the other thread. The regular cheese mod works perfectly fine in MP. I think the reason why the beam doesn't work in mp is because not everyone will have it. Everyone's games knows what an Anubis, Sabre, etc... is so the game can read the cheesemod perfectly fine in MP. However your beam cannon is something new, that not everyone would have. Since not everyone has it, the game is crashing. At least that's my theory.

If you want the beam cannon you might want to look at the mods that let you use the cruisers, that have HUGE cannons on them. If they work on MP and you copy them, your's should work as well.

Also, I love how the Anubis looks, so I use it, even though I can afford the Sabre or any of the other level 10 fighters. It could use a little bump in it's Hull Strength though. Maybe Anubis mkII or something.

Also, I'm not sure if this was a problem with the cheesemod or not, but sometimes whenever I'm tractoring in items, the tractor goes out to the item but doesn't capture it. It's not because my cargo is full, because then the "tractor failed" message would broadcast. It's just that the tractor goes out, but never retrieves the item(so far it's commodity items that it happens on like water, scrap metal, etc...). If you just fly out of range, then you get the "target out of range" message. Just sometimes it won't let you get the item(s). Like I said I'm not sure if this is a problem with the cheesemod, just something i hadn't seen until today when I was playing with the mod doing trade runs.

Yep, the problem is there because you are playing on a server that doesn't have the mod.

Oh, have you used Thruster's in your mod? You hit 990, and the speedometer actually shows it as well. Since that's the cruise speed as well, sometimes I just thrust instead of cruise.

Crap. Update on the beam cannon. After editing it further the game wont even run anymore

So even when I start up just Freelancer it crashes, and EVEN after I reinstalled!
