Pilot names

Is there a file that I could edit to change the names of some of the other pilots? I would guess this is probably not possibly without getting the source code or something (do you think DA will give it to me if I ask nice? lol

).

I just thought it might be fun to edit some of the names. My friend and I do this with most games we play, especially MP shooters like UT. Change the bot names to "Anthony's Mom" and "Strongbad" and "The Yellow Dart". Lol.

$5000 fake credits to the person who can tell me where those last two references came from.

Those are my thoughts, not yours, I'm WapCaplet[!

I bet they are in some .dll - one should try looking at a few of them with ResourceTuner, but I'm too tired right now... ^_^* If there isn't a reply until tomorrow morning, I'll go take a look.

Yes there is a file that contains names, they get generated randomly by first and putting last name with it. It is a pain to find and edit. Have not got to that yet, also busy with trying to get a dynamic economy work around pass the hord coded behaviour.

If you want to edit the names of pilots, you'll have to download resource hacker or anything else to edit DLL files and look under nameresources.dll . This file contains all sorts of editable information on names. This file includes the names of pilots, but I'm unsure as to which name belongs to which faction. It took me some guesswork, but I finally got mine to work. There are DLL editing programs on this website, although I'm unsure as to what the exact link is.
