that's starting to look a bit like the pirate ships... dagger, stilleto, sabre ...

the Dagger/Stilletto/Sabre are no question the best looking ships in the game and i was abit annoyed with the lack of "coolness" factor of the ships but as soon as someone (other than me) finds a way to import new meshes then the cool ships are going in.

well lucky old you, yes a few people are working on new ships, myslef and a few others are involved in a project called (infinty shipyards) a mod to add a new shipyard to the game where you can buy custom made ships try this link

check out the ship viewer there and see the ships already made, i know there are also another four well on there way too, hopefully i'll be posting a progress thread here soon.

In my opinion, the Kusari fighters look the best! The frieghter looks like a fat bee though...

cheers guys. we have a great team working on all the models, trust me there will be some good ships.

i think you'll find alot of inspiration from other games in the models, as long as there original they'll be in the mod.

however there has been talk behind closed doors about a star wars mods? any takers???

actually i think the star wars thing has been done to death. i would prefer to see some more original designs.some truly unique looking ships would be wonderful.

Its a shame that this game was 2D, cose it had really nice looking ships, Im sure that you can draw some inspiration from them... Speccialy the Shofixti ship... I would REALLY like to see something like that in 3D,It shuld look grate with FL engine.

I'd have to disagree. I would love flying in some Star Wars ships. In fact, that's what i'm waiting for. The Millenium Falcon would be cool, if anyone has played Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire I wouldn't mind the Main characters ship either. I haven't played that game in a long time, but he had a sweet ship. Who doesn't want to do runs in a Millenium Falcon though?

The mod that makes collisons more deadly is cool as well, that way if you want to even the odds, fly into an asteriod field, and see just how good the computer is at dodging.

i have used the old 3dstudio a little but dont know so much about getting the ships to the game

Best looking ship has to be................................The Patriot..... honestly it does. It reminds me of some kickass swept-wing fighter jet. The defender is also ownage looking. In terms of Handling with mods and stuff,the Patriot and the Dagger own. The Dagger is like the ferrari of freelancer. Handles well, fast, looks sexeh, but fragile :/
