yet another ship edit question

i am using MightyMidget's speed mod (Thanks again mm! ) on my server, but i want to change a couple of things that have nothing to do with speed. first, the squad has requested i get freighter hp up to reflect new speed changes, ok i think there is enough information here in the forums for me to do that by myself. i hope. the 2nd...well not so easy.
i have searched the posts and i cannot find a way to modify the shields hp for the freighters. how can i adjust shield unit hp please? can someone help me?
ok actually i found that editing the shields was easier than editing the ships hitpoints. i edited shiparch.ini and no changes took effect in either single or multiplayer. can someone please help me so i can get my server back up with this?
it isn't a cheat, everyone in squad agrees that freighters need more, especial with the speed mod in.

StarGod, I'm not sure about your question. What do you mean with "hp"?
hp like HitPoint or hp like HardPoint or something else? What's your goal?

depending on what shield you have, it has a certain amount 'hit'-points, so look in the ini 'st_equip.ini' for the shield specs to changing them....

there's a post about 'friendly names' that's a great help in figuring what id belongs to your current shield if you want to change that...

however my problem with doing that is that everyone else in the game that has the same shield, will then have the same amount of hit-points. (and if you're going to 'cheat' ; do it right....)

so you have an option to create you own shield, make sure they sell it somewhere and then go there to buy it.... I haven't quite figured out how to do that yet....
