From ship to power core?

I read a good share of the posts around here and already figured out how to get my hands on a lot of things, including my ships armor rating, allowed equip classes, engine stats and some more.

One thing I _didn't_ find was the exact way to influence the energy regen rate/energy potential of my ship.
I understand that many (all?) power cores are listed in the misc_equip.ini but the problem is, I can't figure out which of those my little "Falcon" fighter has built-in... I tracked it's ship ID to 237018, but that number doesn't appear at all in the misc_equip file.

So my question is:
How can I find out which power core the "Falcon" has so I can modify its stats?

None of the IDs mentioned in the Falcon's section in the shiparch.ini can be found in the respective equip file... or am I missing something important here? O_o *clueless*

P.S.: anyone know how many "sleeping" hardpoints the "Eagle" has? I'm playing with the idea of modifiying him instead if this doesnt work.

To solve the powerplant issue, first look at the nickname of the ship i.e. li_fighter. Then look for it in the goods.ini. The nickname of the are its in will tell you where the next related good is in the same file. The powerplant type is there. After that, open up the misc_equip and the look for the powerplant type specified in the goods.ini

Ahhhh, thanks. The "goods.ini" was the missing link that I needed. =)

there's also a post with id-name pairs that makes it easier to match things up...

it's called "*** IDS_NAMES *** to Friendly Names "

I found that "friendly name post"... way down on the board. I daresay someone should make it sticky, it's kinda essential, isn't it?

thanks again,
