problem...I'm using BINI (it seems to work, I've got a couple files uncompressed with it), but it won't seem to uncompress the constant.ini file.

1) I'm using the constant.ini in the DATA file...correct?

2) I am suppose to unpack it, correct?

Thanks in advance.

Lance

odd...I can not use the one in my original DATA file, but when I extract the constant.ini file from the new "original ini files", BINI is able to open it.

Anybody else run into something like that?

Post Thu Mar 20, 2003 9:49 am

heh for fun i edited it to be a speed of 10.
now ships are like "I'm bugging out, they've got too much going for them" then procedd to bug out... very slowly

...Just a random thought from a random mind

Anyone else,

On the lookout for the value that sets crusie speed to 300, i am thinking that this maybe a hardcoded feature in the game, can anyone shed light on this elusive little thing?

Bryan & LanceMan,

I have found it tons easier to use the bini with gui option see file details here :
<a href="http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/editing/download/download.asp?id=199"> BiniQDU v1.1

Handy app for newbies,
1) decompresses the ini without cmd line options when you open & save the ini
2) backs up orignal ini to orignalfilename.ini.txt in same folder

I have tried this with the Cruise Speed Hack, and it works prefectly.

As i am a newbie myself i have only just started to plan my mod, 1st problem i had with the info on these forums is "well how do i decompress these things?" and then like an anvil falling on my head i installed this and boom it made sense. As this program does the decompressing for you when you open and save the ini.
