Can somebody please tell me how i can change the initial player settings for the Multiplayer game?

I read somewhere that you are supposed to edit the
\\Freelancer\EXE\mpnewcharacter.fl
file. But i dont exactly know what to do from there.

Like, does the same file have to be in the server-side folder and the client-side or one or the other...

Then, how exactly am I supposed to edit it?
For example, if I would like to start out with 1,000,000 (instead of the initial 2000) credits. And if I want a different starting Ship and/or Planet.

What do I Edit???

Please either hook me up with a link or provide me with an in-depth example. Sorry for the NooBish question, but thanks
