Liberty Cruiser Causes Crash

I'm trying to get the Liberty Cruiser to Sell on a Mooring Base I've created. So far I've managed to sell a transport and a ship called the Guardian there with no Visible problems. However. When I click on the liberty Cruiser Icon, The Game crashes and I get thrown back to desktop. all other ships work, and the Liberty Cruiser Causes this crash whereever I sell it. Can anyone help me out?

Yes, you've made an error in making the cruiser for sale.

So, start removing things from the package for the ship in teh goods.ini file, and leave it with just a scanner, engine and power plant.

Alternatively, search for the Freelancer mod scanner, and use that.

Hang on. if I modified the Liberty Cruiser Forward Gun, and that was attached by Default. Then would that affect the cruiser in the shipdealer? I only editied the damage values. Would that affect it?

its much faster to just find the line in your goods with the gun, put a semicolon in front like so
;addon =

and see whether that's the actual reason than to try checking each item in the ship for typos

debugging method (kinda like the scientific method) :
1. find the easiest thing to test first (highest *duh!* factor)
2. change it, replace it with a well tested value (in context of system encounterparameters for ex.), or remove it - whichever is appropriate
3. if that didn't fix it, it probably wasn't the cause but if you didn't generate a new error leave your "fix" and make the next change

so for this problem, like Chips says just remove all but the basic equipment (if those are bad none of the ships will sell properly), and try it again. if that isn't it (although it usually is) i would guess its probably a custom ship icon problem (wrong format TGA perhaps)

hopefully that sets you on the right track. and no editing the damage values shouldn't affect it at all, however if you leave a trailing space or a double-space in an ini FL's code parser will have a fit

p.s. it's very hard to make-do without FLSpit and CRCtool and last but not least Accushot's FLScan learn them, love them, use them - your mod will be much happier for it

You also have my personal favourite, Freelancer Ini Analyzer by Bluecat (get it at the EOA site, this catches most of the typo's and sloppy coding that FLScan & Spit can't find.

Then there's the new (to me) Freelancer Error Checker by Lancer Solurus, link is in the EOA Forums, this found thing's that even I missed.

Would Multiple Entries of the Same Name Cause Crashes. i thin there may be multiple Entries for Liberty Cruiser in Loadous.ini
