You make no mention of FLspew in any of this, check this to make sure that it is able to load the tga's for your ship.

This might provide some indication - BTW download the freelancer.ini at EOA that provides more flspew or if you know what your doing adjust the spew levels so that more error reporting is given in spew via the freelancer.ini file.

It seems you now need the game to tell you what the problem is.

This is all based on the files you sent me.

LODranges = 0, 2000 <--This is fine, FL changes the mesh to a reference point at about 1500 as by that time it's no bigger than a pixel.

Conclusion:- Your MAT doesn't work.

Reason:- It isn't a MAT file as most of the internal structure for a MAT is missing.
