mods wont properly activate

i was goin through my mods folder today and decided to activate a few that i hadnt yet.

so, i drag then into FLMM to unzip them, as ive done before to activate, and they unzip, and i get the blurb that they have been unzipped and waiting to activate, only there are no lines saying what the mod is. i get the error message that

Unable to load mod!
Error: This mod (EngineTrailMod) doesn't contain any files under the DATA, DLLS, or BIN folders, so it wouldn't modify anything!
Check the folder structure for this mod.
Found mod: C:\Program Files\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\EngineTrailMod

its the same for all no matter which mod i use.

i have FLMM version 1.3

i downloaded and activated a mod the other day and it wokred fine. this one auto unzipped upon opening, but as i said above, ive done the same with mods before and it wasnt a problem, any help or ideas would be appreciated.

i did try backups in FLMM, and i also tried restarting my computer..
the only thing i did with FLMM today was play with some mods in SP, some didnt go well with others, but i shut em all off before i tried getting new ones...

edit
i just downloaded another mod that auto unzips and installs into FLMM, this installed and activates fine, i havnt actually played it yet tho.
tnx in advance

If you only learn one thing in Freelancer, let it be this, do not piss off someone who is much better, or has a much higher level than you.

The aforementioned error, which I've committed, is caused by zipping the file, but not the complete directory to it.
IE:
I released a mod of my Hovis Race Bypass.
When I first released it, I just zipped it up, add the .flmod extension, and sent it in.
Turns out, the only thing in it were the file, and the directories; Missions\M06
I ended up fixing it by adding the folder DATA.
So that it now appears as Data\Missions\M06\M06.ini
If you get that error, simply create a "Data" folder under the mod's main folder, and then dump everything into it.
That'll usually get it working.
It's a common mistake that we need to keep an eye out for.
