This is where you can ask for help and post your knowledge on error messages from using the various tools that describe error messages in MODs such as DataStorm the Freelancer MOD Scanner the server console and FLSpit.

Finally figured out what is causing the crashes. For some reason the original explosions are causing (You will hear the NPC scream then instead of an explosion boom server goes down). The original explosions are not modified so I need some ideas here (That is if anyone is still around here). I know it is not a sound hang (Commented them out) and I get the same thing if I use Argh's Tool kit (I have a feeling I am missing something).

Just a stab in the dark here Nightstalker. Have you look into the flspew.txt for hints about the crash? Do a windows search for the file if you are not familiar with it. Look down near the bottom. I am also nearing completion of a TCM and used to get "WARNING: Voice message 2213849798 is invalid for voice 3073825485" (although that error has gone away now). I changed and deleted so many things from the vanilla I'm not really sure which change made the error go away, but could this be related to a voice speaking when an explosion was supposed to happen? Let me know if this is any help, maybe I could give some advice about the many things I changed to track it down.

FLSpew is absolutly clear (That is outside of the normal stuff that pops up). I know it is not a sound hang because I commented everything out to that effect. It also happens when the NPCs just die (No scream, just exploding). I pretty much eliminated everything involving the explosions (including fuses) and possible sound hangs. It is something between the kill shot and the explosion, as to what it is, I have no idea and continue to search for any possible suspects.

Hi folks. I´m not a newbe but the last time I played Freelancer was two years ago. Everytime the FLMM worked fine but now I can´t activate big mods like Tie Universe or the Federation shippack. I made everything that was told in the FAQ and the tipps you told here but it didnt work. There are files FLMM can´t find but I found no errors. The Error Line in FLMM for the Federation Shippack for example:

Error: FLMM has determined that 'Federation ship pack V2.3' won't properly activate.
Error: Unable to find section '[Trigger'(...) in 'C:\Programme\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\data\missions\M13\M13.ini'

So where is the problem? I used the patch and the SDK. Also the Quick fix after a reinstall but it didn´t work...

what mod manager version are you using? 1.3/1.4 should be good, but if you have 1.4 i recommend trying 1.3 as it is less buggy - however script errors usually occur when a. the mods corrupted or b. the script is outdated with newer flmm

re nightstalker's post from last year - i had the same problem recently. if you've been modding explosions or fuses that can be the cause, as a bad explosion can cause a crash, and i would hazard to guess the NPC crashes are caused by bad entries in lootprops.ini, either items that aren't present (actually i haven't seen this cause a crash yet) or new items (don't ask me how to add them correctly, as i don't know)

hey guys i'm getting a lot of error messages like this when i try to host my mod and i get errors like this.

E:\FL\Scratch\Source\Common\Systems.cpp(3003) : *** ERROR: Failed to insert new base into system DB due to ID collision.
E:\FL\Scratch\Source\Common\Systems.cpp(3003) : *** ERROR: Failed to insert new base into system DB due to ID collision.

E:\FL\Scratch\Source\Common\Systems.cpp(3003) : *** ERROR: Failed to insert new base into system DB due to ID collision.

and i get a couple like this.

E:\FL\Scratch\Source\Common\Systems.cpp(3071) : *** WARNING: get_base(Li01_01b_Base) failed.
E:\FL\Scratch\Source\Common\Systems.cpp(3071) : *** WARNING: get_base(BR07_02_Base) failed.

Need more info than that. I assume you have added a few new systems to the original game? I think I got that once when I was careless with a new systems name and named it ST01 (same as an existing system).

Post Tue Mar 20, 2007 2:27 pm

Guardian? If that is you, i made sure there were no conflicting Base Entries. I think The Server Files Need modifying Slightly, as Li_o1b Base is a Mooring Fixture, I can assure you there are no Conflicing system or Base Entries.

Post Thu Mar 22, 2007 6:26 pm

The ID Collision errors are caused by duplicate base nicknames in one of three files, Universe.ini, mBases.ini and which ever one of the system ini's you've worked on. If you did it with FLE then chances are you've got all three, as FLE is crap at cleaning up after itself and leaves entries lying all over the place.

Post Sat Mar 24, 2007 12:08 pm

FLE only leaves the crap you put in it behind.

Post Sun Mar 25, 2007 4:01 am

It's Mbases.ini if i just leave this, Will it affect the Mod in any way if I host it online?

Post Sun Mar 25, 2007 1:11 pm

Try CTD's by the barrel load for both clients and servers, the mbases is the only file AFAIK that has to be perfect , the slightest mistake, typo, extra base or duplicate base will destroy all encounters in your systems. No NPC's will dock and every patrol path will cause nothing but CTD's when your within spawning range (about 5k).

@ Louva-Deus, having debugged a few mods over the past couple of years I can say that FLE does leave crap behind. Take Ruppetthemuppet's problem as a classic example, build a base and fully kit it out and then some time later delete it, most of the time FLE will delete every thing for the base, but ocasionally FLE will forget to delete the mBases entry. Then if you build a new base in that system FLE will use the deleted bases number, but it won't use the existing mBases entry, instead it makes another one creating a duplicate entry and causing nothing but problems.

Thanks, I've sorted the problem with Mbases Ini.

also for some reason every time i enter New York i get disconnected however all other systems work.

O_o the mass of errors with the same type could mean that you didnt add the systems and bases to the universe.ini

(my first guess on this problem)

if you did add them to the universe.ini ... then the bases are in wrong order... the inis mention contain bases which dont exist... and St04 is just a mythos (but like i said... thats if you didnt forget to add the bases and systems to the universe.ini
