I did have dial up internet and was only connected at 26.4 bps,but now i have DSl with directway and have 100kbps ,But i have a lagg on the sever !Is there any way i can fix this .I'm running windows xp..My lag is worse now than when i had dail up..

Not sure if you really have 100 kbps connection. It is more likely that
your ethernet connection to your DSL modem has up to 100 kbps capability.
This is a mistaken perception I have had in the past.

To test your internet connection bandwidth, there are many sites available for you to do it.....

Try checking that first.

The lag probably doesn't have anything to do with your connection speed unless your bandwidth is extremely narrow and slow (unlikely). So this is a quick way to rule out whether it is your dsl line.

Okay i did the test at cnet.com and it said my speed was 694.5kbps

iif that link works....it said 8.9 megabits per sec.

2nd link said....1673 kbps

3rd link froze my firefox so i gave up

Ooops. I meant 100 mbps. Not 100 kbps.

Sorry.

It doesn't seem like it is your dsl connection. What game are you playing that causes the lag? Also, what do you mean by not having had a lag using analog dial up but now you do? Playing the same exact game using the same exact PC and OS / Software setup?
