equipping items

sorry if this has already been posted, but while playing Freelancer, I killed me some Rogues, and noticed that I tractored in one of their weapons, it was better than what I had, so I decided to equip it... then I realized that I don't know HOW to equip items... so... how?

On planet, unequip the existing, and presuming the new is the same slot size ie if you have class 5 only a 5 or less will fit. The click to load the new wep.

I didn't know you had to click the little jigsaw icon... I kept trying to click the name, or the pic, of the weapon XD

where do I get a station in freelancer 2.7?
I was surching for so long but I didn't find one which I can buy.
