@ metinallan, you've got a corrupt autosave file, delete it and use the last ingame save point to continue,if you can't find the save game folder it's usually at :- My Documents\My Games\Freelancer\Accts\SinglePlayer.

Does anyone say anything? Does it go to a cutscene? or do you all just sit there looking at each other... or is it in a cutscene that doesn't return to your control?

that happens a lot, that part of the game is often corrupted. A friend of mine had the ships stay neutral and when he attacked them, he failed for attacking a neutral target (he had to kill them by raming them)

Sounds like a trigger is missed. I would try backing up to the last auto save and go again, do not deviate from the flight path pr get too far ahead as this can cause a trigger to be missed.

there is a cutscene and then we just look at each other. if i shoot at them i faile the mission. just as robbio2000 says happened to his friend

Anychance you could email me your save game? If you do, i can then test a little fix I have made for you.

Course - you can try blind testing if you like... but since I haven't really looked into it too deeply, it could simply not work

you're not too far gone man... just replay mission 2... if not, replay the whole story from the beggining altogether...

do not keep in mind oh Lord, our offenses or those of our parents... nor take vengeance on our sins... Our Father...

I took the jump hole from Texas to California and missed the Rowlett thing, so yeah, in that mission it's important that you take the "official" trade lanes and jump gates - a lot of little things can sneak up and get you because of all the waypoints.

If you are despair at last, try this.

Get as close as you can to those 3 ships, hit them with your ship at the speed of 1-20 m/s. That leads to a series of tiny but continuous collisions. Yes, both of you would get damaged, but your shield is regeneratable and theirs aren't. Thus it is just a matter of time. My friend encounterd this problem like you, and he "solved" the 3 ships in this way.

The game won't realize that you are attacking a neutral unit of you are not firing. It worths a try.
