Kinda dumb question...

I can't for the life of me figure out how to equip different equipment while at a base, without buying it from a merchant.

Click the small blue icon in the upper left corner of the equipment picture to mount/unmount equipment. You have to be docked, of course.

yeah, it sorta looks like a puzzle piece, locked together is mounted and separated is unmounted
