Are you running windows XP? Sometimes the forum hangs up and reset. If you are downloading when it does, do not exit the download. It will drop on its on, simple go to the download again and click on it, and it will resume where it left off. 5kb download is normal for dial up, I have it too.

Do you know anyone with either DSL or Cable? Maybe they could download it for you, burn it to a CD and then load it on your computer. I have to gett a few larger ones at work and bring home myself.

I have XP SP2 with 512 DSL and find that the standard brouser file downloader stops short on any long download, I use IE6 and AOL9. If I want to DL a file bigger than 1 or 2 Mb I have to use a Download Manager to get the full DL.

Yep, same issue as guy directly above with stopping downloads. I would recommend you use Firefox or Opera browser, and try downloading with that instead.

The reason I sugjested using Cable or DSL is, I was able to get a 120mb download at work in 10 min before the server could reset. It didn't stop for me then.

Or you could try firefox if you aren't already.

The reason I mention this is simple, if each time the download "cuts out" is at roughly the same amount, then I really doubt it has anything to do with the server here itself. Why? Because it would be "unavailable" so much that many would complain about it - so it's possibly your end.

Also check your temporary internet filesize allowance, as far as I know - that is where it gets "saved to" whilst downloading... if it's too small, maybe that is the reason (although i don't really know that much tbh).

I have used GetRight successfully for years now. Works great and very customizable.

Hi guys here is a little D/L tool I have found that works great.

Fresh Download
This is a free download manager. Gamers, especially those still using IE, download lots of stuff--demos, drivers, firmware, mods, and so on. This alternative to programs like GetRight is fully functional and totally free.

It's a full-featured download manager that integrates with Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Firefox, and most other mainstream browsers. Totally free, it is devoid of both ads and spyware. You can use it to schedule downloads. Use Fresh Download to schedule a download for the wee hours when everyone else is in bed.

In addition, Fresh Download keeps track of completed downloads, and it lets you pause a download (which can be resumed later), starting right where it left off. It's also a download accelerator--when possible, it uses multiple connections to grab the same file, splitting the download into four or more streams that pull files onto your hard drive with blazing speed.
